IOoL-Meeting 2018

In the past years researching and discussing how life could have started, we often find ourselves missing an expert in a certain origin of life field (be it a geologist, theoretical chemist, hand-on biochemist etc.). There are so many questions we only have a chance of answering when we talk and discuss with each other.

We, the Institute of Molecular Evolution at the Heinrich-Heine-University in Düsseldorf, want to provide PhD students and Postdocs working on early evolution and the origin of life with a place and time for such an exchange:

Interdisciplinary Origin of Life (IOoL) Meeting

Schloss Mickeln in Düsseldorf, October 22nd to 24th 2018

Selected attendees will give a 15 minute talk on their research or pitch and directly participate in a round discussion table. There will be no poster sessions.

So all in all: we want you and us to talk, discuss and have fun.

Please send us your 300 word max. abstract (pdf format) until August 31st to undefinedus. If your abstract is selected, we will cover accommodation and all meals, but you will have to arrange your travels.

MSc students are encouraged to submit abstracts, too. The accommodation at Schloss Mickeln is our limiting factor (up to 30 participants). Participants will be selected based on relevance and the overall diversity of topics.

Please feel free to share this invitation with students, group members or colleagues that in your opinion would be interested in this event.

Kind regards,

Your IOoL-Meeting organization team
